The Captain

Captain Jim is a US Coast Guard 50 ton master licensed captain. The Captain has completed all courses, passed all required exams and complied with all requirements including extensive background checks as required since 911. He is certified in First Aide and CPR and carries a well supplied first aide package.

Captain Jim is a proud member of the Grand Haven Sport fishing Association (GHSA) and the Michigan Charter Boat Association including their random drug screening program. Captain Jim’s experience is wide spread. He started fishing in Lake Michigan for Salmon and Trout in the mid 70s. He spent several years off the coast of New Jersey fishing for Tuna, Shark, Marlin, Stripped Bass and many other ocean species. Jim returned to Michigan in 2007 and brought his boat with him. He has spent the past two summers rigging his boat and learning this area for fishing. In addition to personal experience at many ports, Captain Jim has developed a large network with other captains and recreational fisherman to keep on top of activity so that he can put his customers on fish.
